Rising high school sophomores through seniors are invited to study with Hillsdale College faculty this summer while also taking advantage of the College’s John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center. Students with all levels of firearms experience are welcome.
Study the American Founding and the principles of Constitutional Government, receive a supervised introduction to shooting sports, win a $4,000 scholarship to Hillsdale College by competing in a Constitutional essay contest, and enjoy the beauty of the Hillsdale College campus.
Applications are encouraged no later than April 1, but will be reviewed until the program has reached capacity. In addition to the application online, we’ll ask you to write a short essay, and to submit a letter of recommendation, official high school transcript, official ACT/CLT/SAT/PSAT/PLAN scores (one required), résumé, and photograph.
Students who are accepted to the program will be asked to pay a non-refundable $250 program fee to cover transfers from Detroit Metropolitan Airport (if necessary), three daily meals, residence hall lodging, course instruction and materials, and course activities.
Hillsdale Visit Programs
Hillsdale offers a variety of opportunities to visit campus.
High school students are encouraged to spend an entire day with us by participating in one of our visit days. These days include touring campus, attending class or lecture, learning about student services, student life, and financial aid, and eating in the Student Union. You will also have the opportunity to meet current students.
High School Summer Study and Travel programs offer rising high school sophomores, juniors, seniors, and college freshmen the opportunity to earn three college credits from Hillsdale College while traveling to cultural and historic destinations domestic and abroad.
Two-week travel courses begin with time on campus studying with Hillsdale College faculty, after which study continues on site.
